Aloo Do Pyaaza

Paneer Chilly Gravy With Fried Rice

As seating in morning thinking what to cook as i had already tried Paneer Do Pyaaza and shared the recipe in my blog, so i thought why not to try these with Potato(Aloo) as many of the people are not eating the dairy products, so i thought to make  Aloo do Pyaaza , Do pyaaza name defines that the two times onion has been used in in puree and onion  cubes which is cooked with spices and curd, it is spicy in taste as i used the red chilly .The taste of Aloo do Pyaaza is awesome and easy to made can can be served with the chapati or rice.

7-9 Boiled baby potato or 3 big potato cut into cubes
1 onion cut into cubes
3 tomato
2 onion
4-5 garlic cloves
1/2 inch ginger
3-4 dry red chilly
1 small bay leaf
1 tsp red chilly powder
1 tsp kitchen king
1/2 tsp coriander cumin powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
dry fenugreek leaves
4 tbsp curd
2 tbsp cream
1/2 tsp cumin seeds(jeera)


First prick the boiled potato using the fork so that the spices get cooked well init.

In a pan add 1 tbsp oil ,add the boiled potato,cube onion ,pinch turmeric powder then saute it for 2-3 minutes till start to become golden brown.

In a mixture grinder add tomato, onion,garlic cloves, ginger, make puree from it by adding little water.

Take pan add oil, add cumin seeds saute it start to crackle, add dry red chilly and bay leaf. Now add
the tomato onion puree and saute it for 5-6 minutes till it start to leave oil.

Now add all the spices turmeric powder, red chilly powder, kitchen king, cumin coriander
powder and salt. mix well everything properly.

Now add curd and 1/2 cup water.

Add saute potatoes and onion, dry fenugreek leaves, fresh cream then mix well everything properly so that the gravy and spices get very well coated on it and cook it for few minutes covering the lid so that the spices mix well with potato.

garnish it with fresh coriander leaves or dry fenugreek leaves.
