Today when i wake up in morning mom told me their are some left over rice of yesterday , So i thought to make vada from left over rice.Its a simple and easy to cook recipe which can be made in 10 minutes only. Rice vada are crispy and crunchy in taste , can we served in breakfast or tea time.
1 cup cooked rice
1/2 cup gram flour
1 medium sized onion chopped finely
6-8 curry leaves
2 green chilies chopped fine
1 tsp red chilly powder
oil for deep fry
In a mixing bowl add cooked rice, gram flour,chopped onion, curry leaves,chopped green chilies, red chilly powder, asafoetida add little water and mix it properly.
Heat oil in a wok for deep frying.
Take small portions of the dough, press them, flatten them with hands and drop them in oil.
fry it till golden brown as vada start to become crispy. Take them out in an absorbent paper.
Serve hot with ketchup.
